The English tramp steamer Ackworth (31 Jan 1905)

The English tramp steamer Ackworth, loaded with coal, is ashore on Triumph Reef, 10 miles south of Fowey. [Very descriptive paragraph on how the wreckers work – “bees around the wreck”] After dumping 200 tons of coal she is floated. It is said that the wreckers were paid $10,000 before Ackworth sailed.
